1. Who we are
Thirty ("we," "us," "the app") is a dating platform operated by [your legal name / business name once established]. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account information: email address, password
- Profile information: display name, first/last name (required for male users, used for accountability purposes only, never shown publicly), birthdate, gender, who you're seeking, bio, photos, voice recordings, prompt responses, interests, relationship intent, height, drinking/smoking habits, weekly availability
- Location: your zip/postal code, which we convert to an approximate coordinate to support distance-based matching — we do not collect your device's precise GPS location
- Verification: a selfie photo, used only to confirm you match your profile photos; reviewed by a human moderator, not stored publicly, and not used for any automated facial recognition
- Optional: a phone number, only ever shared with another user if you both mutually agree to exchange contact information after a date
- Social links: Instagram and LinkedIn URLs you choose to add
- Contacts (optional): if you enable mutual-connections matching, we process a cryptographically hashed version of your phone contacts on your device — we never receive or store your contacts' actual phone numbers, names, or any other identifying information about them
- Communications: messages sent through the app, date proposals, and responses to post-date check-ins
Information generated through your use of the app:
- Match, swipe, block, and report history
- Post-date check-in responses (see Section 5 on how these are used)
- Profile completeness and activity timestamps
3. How we use your information
- To operate the core service: showing you compatible profiles, facilitating matches, messaging, and date scheduling
- To verify you meet our age requirement (18+) and to review identity verification submissions
- To maintain safety: processing reports, applying our moderation policy, and preventing repeat bad actors
- To improve how we match people over time (see Section 5)
- To communicate with you about your account or safety-relevant events (e.g., a match expiring, a scheduled date reminder)
4. Post-date check-ins and the double-blind system
After a scheduled date, we ask both participants to privately rate their experience. This is strictly double-blind: we do not reveal either person's specific answer to the other, under any circumstance. Aggregated, anonymized outcomes may contribute to a general "positively reviewed" signal on a profile once enough data exists, but the underlying individual responses always remain confidential between you and us.
5. Using data to improve matching
We use patterns from anonymized interaction outcomes (for example, whether certain kinds of matches tend to lead to mutual interest in a second date) to improve how we surface potential matches over time. This is a core, disclosed purpose of collecting this data. We do not use this data to make consequential decisions about you (such as banning) based solely on automated processing — see Section 7 on moderation for how enforcement decisions are made.
6. What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- We do not show your legal name, phone number, or verification selfie to other users, except phone number exchange that you personally and explicitly agree to.
- We do not use facial recognition to automatically verify identity — verification selfies are reviewed by a person.
- We do not share your specific check-in responses with the person you dated.
7. Safety, moderation, and account actions
We use a delayed, pattern-based moderation system: individual reports are reviewed confidentially, and enforcement action (such as account suspension) is generally based on a verified pattern of multiple independent reports, not a single complaint. This is designed to protect people who report issues from retaliation. Immediate blocks you initiate yourself take effect right away and are separate from this process.
8. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and profile information at any time from the app's settings. When you do:
- Your profile, photos, and voice recordings are permanently deleted.
- Historical interaction data that contributes to safety and matching patterns (e.g., that a match occurred, an anonymized check-in outcome) may be retained in de-identified form — stripped of your name, photos, and any other identifying information — so it can continue to inform safety patterns and matching quality without being linked back to you.
- We do not retain your verification selfie beyond what's needed for the verification review process.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to know what we collect and why. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@got-thirty.com. Canadian users have rights under PIPEDA; residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable state law.
10. Children's privacy
Thirty is strictly for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we verify birthdate at sign-up to enforce this.
11. Changes to this policy
We'll notify users of material changes to this policy before they take effect.
